PURPOSE:To lower the possibility of the breaking of a wire, etc., and to improve the reliability of a height detector by connecting one of plural self-holding type reed switches to at least one of signal lines in series, and reducing the number of the signal lines. CONSTITUTION:Reed switches 23 and 25 of the height detector are connected to a signal line c2 in series and other reed switches 22 and 24 are connected to signal lines a2 and b2. Then when a driving magnet 8 is positioned in areas L1, L, M, H, and H1, different binary signals 001, 101, 100, 110, and 111 are outputted by the switches 22-25 to a control unit through the signal lines a2-c2, etc. Here, the control unit decides which state vehicle height is in, namely, which of areas L1-H1 the magnet 8 is in, and feeds or discharge compressed air to and from an air chamber to adjust the vehicle height to one of the high or low adjustment position (area H1 or L1) in two stages. Consequently, external wirings 26 is formed of four lead wires connected to the signal lines a2-c2 and an earth line (g), so the number of lines is reducible.
