PURPOSE:To permit easy, quick and accurate correction of the defect of a liquid crystal display by projecting laser light from the outside of the liquid crystal display to an electrically short-circuited part of the specified liquid crystal display to electrically disconnect said part. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal 5 is driven by using a liquid crystal driving circuit 6 to mainly visually specify the image defect position of the liquid crystal display occurring in the electrical short-circuiting of matrix-shaped thin film wirings 11. The laser light is then projected from the outside surface of a transparent substrate 1 through the substrate 1 to the electrically short-circuited part by which said part is disconnected. as a result, the wirings 11 are electrically disconnected from each other. The easy, quick and accurate correction of the defect of the liquid crystal display is thereby permitted.
