PURPOSE:To permit a residual coating solution to be wiped off and even a thick solution of high viscosity to be applied uniformly by passing a hollow filament support through pin holes of an elastomer before/after or after immersion of the hollow filaments in a coating solution. CONSTITUTION:For instance, immediately after immersion of hollow filament support 3 such as polyether sulfone in a coating solution 4 obtained by dissolving a solute such as cellulose diacetate in a mixed solution of ethyl acetate and ethanol, the residual coating solution is wiped off by passing the support 3 through pinholes in an elastic body 5 such as a sponge. Then a coating layer is uniformly formed on the external surface of the hollow filament by immersing the support in a solidifying liquid 2 such as water. In addition, when water droplets settle on the surface of the hollow filament support and it adversely affect a later coating process during manufacture, the support is permitted to pass through pinholes of another elastic body prior to immersion of the support in a coating solution. Consequently, droplets on the surface of the support are removed. |
