PURPOSE:To design a proper illumination method by an elementary and slightly experienced engineer by deriving and displaying the proper illumination method as some recommended proposals based on an inputted image pickup condition and the data of a knowledge base part. CONSTITUTION:The data of a new knowledge, an experience and a know how is inputted and formed to the knowledge base part 1 through an input and output part 3 and already stored data is suitably corrected. The image pickup condition is inputted to a deductive part 2 through the input and output part 3, and then, the proper illumination method is derived as the some recommended proposals based on the image pickup condition and the data of the knowledge base part 1 and displayed by the input and output part 3. Thereby, the slightly experienced engineer can design the proper image picking up illumination method similarly to a fully experienced engineer.
