PURPOSE:To contrive improvement in insulation between each layer and the cooling efficiency of the title multiplex cylindrical winding, by a method wherein the vertical oil passage between layers is made small on the side where the connection part of the cylindrical winding is present, it is made larger on the opposite side, and an oil passage is provided every other layer in horizontal direction almost in the center part of the cylindrical winding. CONSTITUTION:As a cooling oil passage 3b is widely formed on the lower part and it is narrowly formed on the upper part and a cooling oil passage 3c is formed narrow on the lower part and it is widely, formed on the upper part, the oil coming in from the cooling oil passage 3b passes the horizontal oil passage 5a provided in the center of a partially cylindrical winding 2b and it flows into the cooling oil passage 3c. Accordingly, the oil passage can be made large on the side where voltage is applied and it is made small on the side where voltage is not applied without enlarging the loss of water head from the lower part to the upper part of the winding, and the intensity of the magnetic field between layers can be made almost constant on the upper and the lower parts, and the quantity of oil flowing into the winding can be increased. As a result, the reliability of insulation and cooling efficiency can be improved.
