A tool is described for laying and cutting cables into lenghts by means of a handling device. The cable being laid is guided between a driving roller and a counter-roller, and a cutting unit cuts the cable after it has been laid. The tool has the following features: a movable exchange unit has guides for a plurality of cables, counter-rollers and clamping elements for each cable that secure the corresponding cable, by moving the exchange unit, one cable guide at a time can be conveyed into the region of the driving roller, in such a way that the cable is conveyed between the driving roller and the counter-roller corresponding to said cable, a releasing unit unblocks the clamping element corresponding to the cable conveyed into the region of the driving roller. The tool enables a cable bundle having different cables to be laid without exchanging tools. |
