PURPOSE:To realize a reliable wire bonding by a method wherein a jig is provided with a cavity, with the bottom of its recess not in contact with a lead post bonding area, and a lead is so supported by the recess bottom as to be near the lead post bonding area. CONSTITUTION:A lead 1, an eyelet 2, and others are arranged on a jig. The lead 1 is inverted, and a lead post 4 abuts against a recess 14. The lead post 4 is provided with a step, and the protruding end of the step is inserted into a cavity 16 and the lower portion of the step is allowed to abut against the recess 14. In this way, a bonding area may be so arranged as not to contact a lower carbon jig 10. The lead 1 is inserted into a through-hole 8 accommodating the eyelet 2, and the upper end of the lead 1 is inserted into a through-hole 20 in an upper carbon jig 12. Raising the temperature to a prescribed value causes glass 22 to melt, which produces airtightness between the eyelet 2 and the lead 1. |
