PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition improved in resiliency and prevention of heat build-up without detriment to abrasion resistance and cut resistance, by incorporating an alkali metal-added polyisoprene or specified modified polyisoprene rubber derived from it. CONSTITUTION:A rubber composition comprising 20-100pts.wt. alkali metal- added polyisoprene rubber or modified polyisoprene rubber obtained by reacting an alkaline earth metal-added polyisoprene rubber with a benzophenone compound, a compound having a group of the formula (where M is O or S) or an isocyanate compound and 0-80pts.wt. diene rubber. Concerning the blend ration of the modified polyisoprene rubber to said other diene rubbers, the effect is the most remarkable when modified polyisoprene rubber us used alone, and it is necessary that at least 20pts.wt. modified polyisoprene rubber is used. When this amount is smaller than 20pts.wt. the extent of reduction of heat build-up of this rubber composition is small, and tires produced cannot be improved in rolling resistance, namely, fuel consumption.
