PURPOSE:To prevent the fall of an S/N, due to a low sensitivity diode by omitting the output of the low sensitivity diode, and performing a time delay integration (TDI) processing. CONSTITUTION:At the time when the outputs of plural number (e.g., three number) of photoelectric conversion diodes 1 are summed up together, the output of the diode 1-1 of a first stage is made to pass through two steps of a delay circuit 6, and the output of the diode 1-2 of second stage is made to pass through one step of the delay circuit 6, but the outputs of the respective diodes 1 are supplied to a following stage through a cutoff means 200, e.g., a gate circuit. By using the cutoff means 200 like the gate circuit, if the diode, the sensitivity of which is lower than a prescribed value, exists, the output of the said diode is prevented from being transmitted by making the corresponding cutoff means 200 operate, and by using only the outputs of the remaining diodes, the TDI processing is performed. Thus, the deterioration of the S/N can be prevented.
