PURPOSE:To form a recording image having high density and excellent various fastnesses easily transferable to a receiving material even when heat energy is applied for a short time, by containing a specific pyrazolone dye in a dye support layer. CONSTITUTION:A pyrazolone dye represented by general formula is obtained according to a conventionally known manufacturing method for coupling N, N-dialkyl-p-phenylenediamine or a derivative thereof with a pyrazolone type coupler. By selecting various substituents as X1, X2, R1-R3 in the dye represented by the general formula, the M.W. of the dye increases and, when M.W. exceeds 350 or 380, a tendency to lower the m.p. of the dye is observed. When this dye is utilized as the one for a thermal transfer sheet, the thermal transfer speed of the dye from the thermal transfer sheet to a receiving material rises even by extremely short-time beating due to a thermal head and an image excellent in storage stability and light fastness is obtained. |
