PURPOSE:To prevent a learning value being employed in feedback control of air-fuel ratio from becoming inappropriate by constructing an air-fuel ratio controller such that a feedback correction value is not employed in calculation of learning value when the feedback correction value deviates considerably from a referential value due to abrupt variation of intake air quantity. CONSTITUTION:Means C calculates a feedback correction value for compensating fuel supply quantity of engine B based on an output from an air-fuel ratio sensor A. Means D calculates a learning value based on the calculated correction value. Furthermore, means E carries out feedback control of fuel supply quantity based on the calculated correction value and learning value. Mean F for controlling intake air quantity to set the idle rotation of the engine B to a predetermined value is also provided. Means G stops taking of correction value into means D for predetermined interval immediately after variation of intake air quantity with higher variation rate than a predetermined value when the engine D is idling.
