A vehicle wheel with an emergency running system is described which can be installed simply and practically with onboard tools as a result of a multi-part construction which has low weight and very good emergency running characteristics, and consists of two resilient support rings (7, 8) which are clamped by means of clamping and spreading segments (9) engaging against a multi-part shallow base rim (5) and the beads (4) of a pneumatic tyre (1) to provide a compact assembly.
