PURPOSE:To decrease the power consumption by actuating an individual interface port or each group of several interface ports just for a period of time to be needed by its own device. CONSTITUTION:An interface port switching circuit 10 applies the DC output 107 of an interface drive power supply 16 to photocouplers 11-13 respectively in accordance with the logical value of the signal of an interface switching logic circuit 15. Thus the interface ports 111, 121 and 131 are activated or inactivated via the couplers 11-13. Therefore, the power supplied to a part or the whole of those interface ports is temporarily discontinued for a period of time needed by its own device. As a result, the power consumption can be reduced in an interface system.
