PURPOSE:To facilitate the patch management in a compact data processing system by producing the patch data for the patch management based on the result of collation between a master load module in a master medium and an operation load module in an operation medium. CONSTITUTION:A master load module 11 in a master medium 1 is collated with an operation load module 21 in an operation medium 2 by a medium collation means 3. The information of the discordant areas produced by the patch between both modules 11 and 12 which is obtained from said collation is edited as the patch data by a patch data generating means. The editing result is outputted from a patch list printing means 5 in the form of a patch list 7. Then the list 7 is written into a patch file 22 by a patch data writing means 6. Thus the patch management is facilitated in a data processing system where the patch operations are performed directly to the load modules.
