PURPOSE:To facilitate the mounting and detachment of an ink sheet cassette and to enhance the detection accuracy of a sensor by allowing the sensor to approach an ink sheet after the mounting of the cassette, by providing a sensor moving means for allowing the sensor to approach the ink sheet with the movement of a thermal head after the mounting of the cassette. CONSTITUTION:When an ink sheet cassette 7 is mounted, since a sensor 8, an ink sheet 2 and the cassette 7 are separated by a sufficient distance, the mounting of the cassette 7 can be performed with sufficient allowance. Next, a head arm 14 moves in conjunction with the movement of a thermal head 3 to a position 3' by a drive means such as a motor or a plunger and a sensor moving arm 15 revolves with the movement of said head arm 14 and, further, a sensor support arm 13 revolves in an f-direction and impinges against a stopper to stop. Whereupon, the sensor 8 reaches the position 8' approaching a reflecting member 12. Therefore, the sensor 8 can obtain sufficient detection accuracy. Further, when the sensor moves to the position of the thermal head 3'', the sensor 8 does not move from the position 8'. When the sheet cassette is taken out, the thermal head 3 is allowed to move to the original position. |
