PURPOSE:To decrease the installing area by disposing an engine and a generator at the upper and the lower sides, and composing the unit to deliver the driving force through pulleys and a belt, in a power generating unit in which the generator is driven by the engine and the waste heat produced at the generation is recovered. CONSTITUTION:At the lowermost position of a case 3 which is a longish rectangular parallelepiped as a whole, a generator 5 is disposed, and just above the generator 5, an engine 7 is disposed. Moreover, at the upper side of the engine 7, or the uppermost position of a case 3, a controller 9 for controlling and various displays is disposed. While a driving side pulley 11 is fixed to the tip of an output shaft 7a of the engine 7, a playing side pulley 13 is fixed at the shaft end 5a of the generator 5, and the both pulleys 11 and 13 are connected to deliver the driving force by a belt 15. Moreover, an exhaust pipe 17 of the engine 7 is extended downward almost vertically along the side of the case 3 connected to a muffler 11 which is disposed horizontal at the bottom of the case 3, and a heat exchanger 21 for recovering waste heat is installed at the vertical part 17a of the exhaust pipe 17. |
