PURPOSE:To improve the positioning accuracy and rigidity of a rotary shaft which constitutes the motor of a rotary polygon mirror device and to accurately transmit information by forming the rotary shaft of the motor cylindrically and supporting this rotary shaft rotatably on a shaft fixed to a storage housing through a bearing. CONSTITUTION:The rotary shaft 33 of the motor 32 which constitutes the rotary polygon mirror device 3 is a hollow cylinder made of metal and a flange part 33b which functions as a flywheel is formed integrally on its peripheral surface 33a. A polygon mirror 8 is fitted onto the rotary shaft 33 and pressed and clamped between a leaf spring 34 fitted and supported on the tip 33d of the rotary shaft 33 and the top surface 33c of the flange 33b with the pressing force of the leaf spring 34. When the rotary shaft 33 is fitted on a shaft 31 fixed to the storage housing 7 through bearings 35 and 36, the rotary shaft 33 is supported rotatably around the shaft 31 of the storage housing 7. Consequently, the rotary shaft 33 is arranged in the storage housing with good positioning accuracy. |
