PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound, having inhibitory action on blood platelet agglutination and useful as medicines, etc., in high purity, by extracting one kidney from a rat, ingesting a saline solution into the rat, collecting blood plasma from the rat, separating and collecting a fraction having a specific molecular weight and treating the fraction by high-speed liquid chromatography. CONSTITUTION:A 7-week old rat which is subjected to ingestion of a 0.6% saline solution from the weaning is used to extract one kidney while being anesthesized with pentobarbital and a recovery period of one week is allowed after the operation. The rat is then fed with a 2% saline solution ad libitum for one week. The whole blood is collected at the time of completing the common salt load and centrifuged to separate blood plasma. A fraction having 10<3>-10<4> daltons molecular weight is separated and collected by using two kinds of filters with 10<4> and 10<3> daltons cut-off molecular weight. The resultant fraction is subsequently treated by high-speed liquid chromatography to purify and separate the aimed blood platelet thromboxane A2 synthesis inhibitory factor.
