PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable constant, by a method wherein impedance is expressed by a mathematical formula containing an unknown equivalent model constant and the equivalent model constant is determined by the formula and a measured value to formulate relationship with a nominal value. CONSTITUTION:A personal computer 13 calculates a constant value by an equivalent model constant determining means 2 by method of least square using a measured value of impedance Im from a measuring device 14 at each frequency and a mathematical formula of Im determined from an equivalent model. Constant values calculated in terms of nominal values for a plurality of passive elements of the same type are transferred to a calculator 15 of a correlation determining means 3 and correlationship is formulated between the nominal values and the equivalent model constant values to be stored into a disc device 17 as data base. The same operation is performed for passive elements of other types. When the types of the passive elements and the nominal values are inputted into a terminal 16 connected to the device 17 where the data base is built, values of the equivalent models and the equivalent model constants of the passive elements are outputted by the mathematical formula stored in the device 17. Thus, values of equivalent model constants can be obtained with a high reliability.
