PURPOSE:To control the distribution in the rolling force in a transverse direction so as to prevent the deformation of rolling rolls and to roll a rolled stock to a rectangular section by inclining the rolling rolls in the rolling direction to cross the rolls with each other at the transverse center of the rolled stock and rotationally driving the rolls at the speeds different from each other. CONSTITUTION:A pair of the rolling rolls 2, 3 which are rotationally driven under the rolling force applied thereto and compress the rolled stock 1 by sandwiching the same from a perpendicular direction are inclined in the rolling direction. The rolls are disposed to cross each other with the corresponding angle theta at the transverse center of the rolled stock 1 and are rotationally driven by driving sources at the speeds V1, V2 different from each other. The rolling force applied to the rolling rolls 2, 3 is thereby decreased, by which the deformation of the rolling rolls is suppressed and the crowns thereof are controlled. The rolled stock is thus rolled to the rectangular section.
