<p>PURPOSE:To decrease gage fluctuation during offset movement and to eliminate disturbance in sheet thickness by constituting a titled mill in such a manner that the offset quantity of rolls to contact work rolls can be changed and a draft is changed simultaneously or before and after the change of the offset quantity. CONSTITUTION:The change quantity of the offset position of intermediate rolls 3 is detected by a detector 13 when said offset position is changed. The change quantity of a roll gap is then computed by a controller 15 which commands a servo valve 14 to correct the roll gap at the quantity corresponding to said change quantity by means of screw down jacks. The gap between the work rolls does not normally change and the deviation in the sheet thickness decreases in spite of a change in the offset of the intermediate rolls. Moving of the offset quantity of the intermediate roll during rolling while a gage meter type AGC is used is permitted.</p> |
