PURPOSE:To display a beautiful rule having no broken dot on a display part, by preliminarily storing the rule pattern corresponding to the thickness of the rule displayed on the display art and continuously drawing the same. CONSTITUTION:A circular digitalized rule pattern is read from a pattern memory 24 on the basis of the display position data of the rule pattern calculated in a control part 23 and an operation part 25 and the line width data sent from a line width detection part 21 to be sent to a drawing control part 26. The drawing control part 26 writes the rule pattern at the position of a bit map memory 27. By this method, by successively writing the display position of the rule pattern at the position of the bit map memory 27, the data of the rule pattern is formed to be displayed on a display art 30 by the control of a display control part 28 and a straight line, an oval, a free curve or the like can be also displayed beautiful.
