<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an optical head wherein light power density obtained in the main scanning time of the optical head is enhanced, by dividing a large number of light emitting elements into a plurality of blocks and successively driving the light emitting elements in each block in parallel with respect to all of the blocks. CONSTITUTION:When a signal is applied to discrete electrodes and a common electrode, the light emitting elements relating to the first discrete electrodes of all of blocks come into a light emission or extinction state corresponding to the voltage state of the writing signal supplied to the common electrode of the respective blocks during the time period from a time t1 to a time t2 and the second light emitting elements of all of the blocks come into a light emission or extinction state during the time period from the time t2 to a time t3. Therefore, the light emitting elements in each block can be parallelly driven in time sequence with respect to all of the blocks. As a result, when a main scanning time remains T, the drive time of one light emitting element can be set to m.T/M and, therefore, a light emitting time per one light emitting element can be made longer than a conventional one.</p> |
