PURPOSE:To aim at simplification in structure and promotion of inexpensiveness as well as improvement in lubricating capacity, by setting up a front-wheel gear shifter, to be installed interposingly between a differential pinion shaft being connected to the engine side and the front-wheel transmission shaft set up in parallel with this pinion shaft, in the inner part of a transmission case. CONSTITUTION:Power out of an engine 1 is transmitted to a transmission shaft 5 via a clutch 3 and a main gear shifter 4 in a transmission case 2. In this case, in the case 2, there is provided with a differential pinion shaft 6 in parallel with the transmission shaft 5, and both these shafts 5 and 6 are connected together by a transfer 7. And, the differential pinion shaft 6 is connected to a rear-wheel differential gear 13, whereby power is transmitted to symmetrical rear wheels from this rear-wheel differential gear 13. And in the transmission case 2, there is provided with a front-wheel transmission shaft 15 in parallel with the differential pinion shaft 6, and a front-wheel gear shifter 16 is installed interposingly between both these shafts 6 and 15. On the other hand, at the outside of the case 2, there is provided with a front-wheel propeller shaft 23, and this shaft is connected to the front-wheel transmission shaft 15 via a pair of gears 21 and 22.
