PURPOSE:To enable printing with low energy, ensure high sensitivity and a small decrease in density with the number of times of use and enable a high transferred density even in repeated thermal transfer, by setting the melt index of a high molecular weight compound contained in a heat-fusible ink layer to be increased as a base is approached. CONSTITUTION:A heat-fusible ink is obtained by melting and kneading a coloring agent (e.g., carbon black, a dye), a wax (e.g., paraffin wax), a high molecular weight compound, a dispersant and the like. The heat-fusible inks comprising high molecular weight compounds having different molecular weights are applied on a base film in two or more layers. The melt index of the high molecular weight compound is set to be increased as the base film is approached, whereby the adhesion of the base film and the ink layer at the time of transferring is made strong, and the quantity of the ink transferred is controlled. |
