<p>SEALANT COMPOSITION A two component sealing composition, and a process for applying the sealant, is provided. The first component is an adhesive comprising a liquid alpha-cyanoacrylate having the general formula CH2=C(CN)-C00R where R is a hydrocarbon radical selected from the group consisting of aliphatic, aromatic, and cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon yroups of 1-10 carbon atoms and alkoxy, chloro and flouro derivatives of said hydrocarbon groups in which alkoxy groups there are 1-4 carbon atoms therein. The second component is a powdered solid having hydroxyl, carboxylate, or both hyroxyl and carboxylate groups therein. In the process for applying the sealant, a liquid layer is first spread over the rupture or opening to be sealed and over the area adjacent to the rupture or openingl and the powdered component is then spread over the first layer.
