摘要 PURPOSE:To permit formation of an image using an electrophotographic sensitive body having a photosensitive layer contg. a red pigment and using laser light by using the laser light of the wavelength obtd. by converting the wavelength of semiconductor laser light to a half. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body formed with the photosen sitive layer contg. the red pigment on a substrate is used and the laser light of 390-425nm wavelength obtd. by converting the wavelength of the semiconduc tor laser light to a half is used as the laser light. The photosensitive layer consists of an electric charge generating layer and charge transfer layer and is formed by dispersing the red pigment into the charge transfer layer. The red pigment is one kind selected from dibromoanthanthrone or perylene pigments. Conversion of the wavelength of the semiconductor laser light to a half is executed by forming a light guide in the crystal of lithium niobate and confining the semiconductor laser light therein to obtain the output of the half-wavelength with high conversion efficiency. After the photosensitive layer is electrically charged, the laser light is modulated according to a digital signal and is scanned by a polygonal prism on the photosensitive layer, by which the electrostatic image is formed on the photosensitive layer.
