PURPOSE:To manufacture a sintered iron alloy having improved wear resistance at high temp. by adding specified percentages of C, Cr, Si, Mo, W, Mn, P, B, Cu, Pb, Sn and Zn to Fe. CONSTITUTION:A sintered iron alloy consisting of, by weight, 0.1-1.0% C, 2-10% Cr, 0.1-0.9% Si, 5-20% Mo and/or W, <=0.7% Mn, <=0.05% P, 0.5-2.0% B, 5-30% one or more among Cu, Pb, Sn and Zn and the balance Fe with impurities is manufactured. The alloy having wear resistance at high temp. has optimum strength at high temp. and optimum self-lubricity as a material for the valve seats of an internal combustion engine.
