The title mixt. is purified from fermentation broth mixt. contg. 5'- IMP (I) and 5'-GMP (II) by ion-exchange chromatography and solvent extn. Thus, 2 l fermentation mixt. contg 2.2 wt.% (I) and 1.8 w/v % (II) is subjected to strong basic anion exchange chromatography, followed by strong acid cation exchange chromatography. The elute (900ml) is decolorized using a decolorizing resin, adjusted to pH 7.8 and concentrated. The slurry (solid, 60%) is dissolved in H2O to give 17.6 w/v % soln., which is mixed with active chacoal, heated to 60≦̸C with stirring and filtered. The filtrate (340ml) is mixed slowly with 350ml org. solvent (MeOH:H2O=95:5) with decreasing the temp. at 3≦̸C/hr to give 53g crystalline mixt. [(I)Na2; (II)Na2=52:48 .
