摘要 PURPOSE:To calculate the force acting on a ball bearing increasing with the rising in temp. during operation with high accuracy, by detecting the displacement quantity of the ball bearing in the axial direction thereof in relation to the temp. and thermal expansion of the main shaft of a rotary machine to continuously record the same. CONSTITUTION:A detection apparatus brings the temp.-sensitive part of a thermoelectric thermometric element 5 composed of platinum, copper, nickel or a thermistor in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the outer race of a ball bearing 12 through the hole piercing the bearing housing 13 of a rotary machine to reach the outer peripheral surface of the outer race of the ball bearing 12 and continuously inputs the detected temp. of the outer race to a recorder 10 in synchronous relation to the output value of a detection element 2 relating to the displacement quantity of the outside end surface of the outer race of the ball bearing 12 in the axial direction. An infrared thermometric element 6 is provided to the rotary machine and the detection value thereof is continuously inputted to the recorder 10 in synchronous relation to the output of a displacement meter 8 relating to the displacement quantity of the free end part of a main shaft 14 in the axial direction. By this method, the displacement quantities of the outside end surfaces of the ball bearing 12 and bearing housing 13, and the end surface of the main shaft 14 in the axial direction are made synchronous to the rising in temp. to make it possible to detect the displacement quantity of the ball bearing with high accuracy.
