PURPOSE:To improve the stability of a color developer and to reduce the increasement of fogging of the titled material at the time of continuously processing by incorporating an aromatic primary amine color developing agent, a specific compd. and an org. phosphonic acid type chelating agent in the devel oper. CONSTITUTION:The developer contains the aromatic primary amine color developing agent, at least one kind of the compd. shown by the formula and at least one kind of the org. phosphonic acid chelating agent. In the formula, X is an atomic group necessary for forming a condensed ring, R1 and R2 are each the same or the different with each other, and are each alkylene, arylene, alkenylene or aralkylene group. The compounding amount of the compd. shown by the formula is preferably 0.1-50g, further preferably 0.2-20g per 1l the color developer. Thus, the stability and the coloring property of the color developer are improved, and the increasement of fogging and the change of gradient of the titled material are reduced.
