PURPOSE:To prevent effectively light from leaking even if many light beams enters one rotary rod and to suppress communication trouble such as crosstalk by providing a light leak preventive layer outside an optical transmitting means. CONSTITUTION:The optical transmitting means 12 of the rotary rod 11 has the double structure of a core 13 and a clad 14 and the light leak preventive layer 15 is provided outside this clad 14. This light leak preventive layer 15 is formed preferably of a material which has large loss (high loss) due to light absorption and a larger refractive index than the clad part, and further has the same composition with the rod 11 so that this layer is united with the rod 11. This light leak preventive layer 15 is provided preferably outside the core 13, i.e. on the border surface of the rotary rod 11 when the optical transmitting means 12 consists of only the core 13. Consequently, a light leak between optical transmitting means is precluded effectively and a superior element free from communication trouble, etc., due to crosstalk, etc., is obtained. |
