<p>PURPOSE:To automatically correct the cause of empty feeding by providing a control means for reversing a paper feed roller while lowering and, then, lifting up a paper loading board. CONSTITUTION:When a sheet of copying paper which is to be fed due to the rotation of a paper feed roller 19 fails to cause a sensor 111 to be on within a defined time, it is judged that an empty feeding due to the slipping rotation, etc. of the paper feed roller 19 occurred. When judged empty feeding, the paper feeding roller 19 is reversed for a defined time while a lifting motor 110 is reversed for a defined time to lower a loading board 108 by a defined quantity. Thereby, the pressure contact between the top face of the sheet of copying paper and the paper feed roller 19 is removed. Then, the lifting motor 110 is normally rotated to lift up the loading board 108. Thereby, the top face of the sheet of copying paper is brought into pressure contact with the paper feed roller 19, resetting the pressure contact condition between the two. After that, a paper feeding motor 106 is normally rotated to resume a paper feeding operation.</p> |
