PURPOSE:To attain a stable white balance adjustment at all times while not being susceptible to the effect of a tentative change in a light source by providing an averaging means for averaging the time of color temperature information from an arithmetic section of a color temperature measuring means to an output section of a white balance adjusting means. CONSTITUTION:An average arithmetic section 3a of a microcomputer 3A takes in color temperature information from a differential amplifier circuit 2 at different times for plural cycles and stores it in an RAM 3b and when the taking-in for prescribed cycles is finished, plural pieces of color temperature information are extracted from an RAM 3b and averaged. Then the average color temperature information by the arithmetic section 3a is used, the adjustment arithmetic section 3c operates the adjustment data for the white balance and gives an output to a DA conversion circuit 3B. Thus, even when color temperature information from the circuit 2 has a change because of momentary radiation of light from other light source or an object having high saturation or lightness crosses a photographing optical path, a large deviation at the adjustment state of the white balance due to it is prevented.
