PURPOSE:To attain measurement and adjustment with high accuracy easily in a short time for each component signal by providing a 1st generating means generating a prescribed achromatic luminance signal and a 2nd generating means generating a prescribed chromatic signal. CONSTITUTION:A V-ROM 304 stores an address of a horizontal scanning line to select the kind of signals, ROMs 305-307 store the waveform of generated signals Y, C1, C2 and output desired signal waveform data by using the address of an H counter 302 and the ROM 304. Y data from the ROM 305 is subjected to D/A conversion and a synchronizing signal is added by a synchronizing addition circuit 310 via an LPF 309 to output a Y signal. Similarly, signals C1, C2 are outputted from synchronizing addition circuits 313, 316. From the component signals Y, C1, C2, a white part signal (C1=C2=0), a red purple part signal (C1not equal to 0, C2=0) and a blue purple part signal (C1=0, C2not equal to 0) are formed. A pattern reading directly the gain difference of a transmission line is obtained by changing the signal C1 or C2 in the measured signals Y, C1 and Y, C2.
