THERMAL RECORDING PRINTER

PURPOSE:To permit application of the existing line data and previous control data and prevention of printing shifts by providing a thermal head with a common input line to each shift register installed for each enable block. CONSTITUTION:Thermal heads 1 are aligned in a single line on an insulative substrate, and a printing data signal entered into each shift register 5 is transmitted to each corresponding latch circuit 4 as a parallel signal. Then a driver signal 3 is driven by means of a printing data signal supplied from a latch circuit 4, and a heat generating element 2 corresponding to the printing data signal is energized. The driver circuit 3 controls the supply of electric current to the heat generating element based on the printing data signal and 'enable' signal. Consequently, the heat generating elements 2 generate heat selectively to perform a prearranged printing. The driver circuit 3 is so designed that the enable signal is entered in parallel independently; this does not allow printing shifts if the previous controlled printing data is applied continuously.
