PURPOSE:To easily and accurately measure the size of a part to be measured such as a flaw in the internal surface of a tube by providing a slider provided to a guide member for curved pipe insertion and a scale based upon its external diameter as reference size. CONSTITUTION:The insertion member 15 is equipped with an arm 20 which projects to in front of an end surface 8 and the slider 21 which is positioned at its tip so that it is in the visual field of an optical system. Further, the scale 26 based on the size of the slider 21 caught in the visual field as the reference size is added to the optical system. This endoscope 1 when used is inserted into the tube 30 while the internal surface of the tube is observed through the window of the optical system. The slider 21 at the tip of the arm 20 and the scale 26 can be viewed at the same time in the visual field of the observation optical system. Here, the size of the part to be measured such as the flaw in the visual field is judged by checking how many sliders 21 the part to be measured corresponds to. Namely, the size of the slider 21 is known previously and then the size of the part to be measured can be judged instantaneously from the size of the slider 21 and the read graduation of the scale 26.
