PURPOSE:To obtain the same characteristic as that of an electrode using a multiplex coil and shorten the production time by winding a coil with a notched section on a core wire to form an electrode. CONSTITUTION:A coil 12 with a notched section 12a is wound on a core wire 8, and an electron emitting material 11 is filled in a gap section containing the notched section 12a between the coils 12 and between the coils 12 and the core wire 8 to form an electrode. Since the coil 12 forming the electrode has a notched section, a sufficient quantity of the electron emitting material 11 can be filled in the gap section without using a complex structure such as a multiplex coil. Accordingly, the same characteristic as that of an electrode using the multiplex coil can be obtained. In addition, the structure is simplified, thus the production time can be sharply shortened.
