An apparatus for dispensing of powderlike material, especially sawdust, has a supply tank 6 with a lower funnel-shaped part 8, which is connected to an essentially horizontally mounted nozzle pipe 12, which is connected at one end to a pressurized air nozzle 16, and which at the opposite end is connected to elements for controlling the direction of the doses of material given off during the instantaneous effect of the pressurized air via the pressurized air nozzle 16, in that, specifically, the apparatus is designed for controlled dispensing of sawdust on an elongated workpiece, which is arranged predominantly horizontal during the processing on an elongated work stock 2, which rotates during the processing about an axle essentially parallel with the nozzle pipe 12 and at a distance from it. The direction control elements are comprised of an elongated pipe element 32, which extends along the work stock 2, and which is configured at least for a distance corresponding to the length of the workpiece with a slotlike opening 36 for discharge of sawdust down onto an elongated part of the workpiece. In this way, one achieves a dispensing apparatus which enables a very precise dispensing of sawdust both in terms of placement and quantity. The dispensing apparatus takes up only slight space above the processing machine. <IMAGE>
