The box made of semi-rigid material, such as cardboard, of the type comprising, in the open position, four panels 2, 3, 4, 5 connected along longitudinal parallel edges in pairs, prolonged at each longitudinal end by a flap allowing the closing of the box, is characterised in that two of the said panels 4, 5 which are parallel to each other comprise an intermediate folding line 45, 55 parallel to the edges and prolonged up to their respective flaps 41, 42 and 51, 52, and in that the said flaps 41, 42, 51, 52 are each articulated about a pair of folding lines 46-47, 48-49, 56-57, 58-59 forming between them an angle whose apex is located over the said intermediate folding line 45, 55, the said angles of a same panel 4, 5 being opposite to each other and of the same value such that by the simultaneous folding down of the flaps 41, 42, 51, 52 into the closed condition of the box, the panels 4, 5 fold like bellows.
