PURPOSE:To easily obtain purified and processed products of fossils of natural shellfishes having fine particle size and high quality and being suitable as additive for mineral feed by drying a raw material comprising a crude ore of fossil of natural shellfishes which has been mined from a stratum of a vein and crushed, with hot air, then classifying with air. CONSTITUTION:Fossils of natural shellfishes contg. components of several kinds of nekton, plankton, algae, seaweeds, etc., consisting of calcareous material, siliceous material, etc., are mined from a stratum of a vein where said fossils are deposited. The fossils are crushed to granular or coarse sand shaped crude ore, and dried naturally. Then, the crude ore of the natural shellfish fossil is fed to, for example, a rotary kiln, dried at 120-450 deg.C with hot air, and crushed simultaneously. It is crushed further to powder in, for example, a ball mill after cooling, and purified and a processed product of fossil of shellfish having 0.10-50.00mum particle size is produced by classifying with a cyclone, etc.
