PURPOSE:To obtain a high sealing effect by permitting a given solidifying agent to be filled into a metal receiver by fixing plates having a sealing function to both sides of a coupler plate. CONSTITUTION:A coupler consists of a metal receiver 1 having a slit 11 to be connected to the end of a horizontal reinforcing beam 4, a coupling metal 2 to be inserted into the receiver 1, and a coupling plate 3 connected to the metal 2. Shield plates 6 are fixed to both sides of the plate 3, and the free ends of the plates 6 are pressed against the periphery of the receiver 1 form a shield space around the slit 11. The intrusion of concrete into the receiver 1 when concrete is placed can thus be prevented and a given solidifying agent can be filled into the receiver 1. Thereby a highly sealing effect can be obtained.
