PURPOSE:To obtain a vane type compressor with the lightness of weight, by providing an electroplating layer on sliding surfaces of side plates, ion-plating film on the top part of a vane and an electroplating layer on its side surfaces and forcing a rotor to be press fitted to serration parts of a shaft. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder block 1 and a rotor 4 are formed by a hypereutectic Si aluminum alloy excellent in wear resistance. Side plates 2a, 2b are formed by an aluminum alloy, further an electroplating layer, mainly composed of iron, is provided on at least a surface of the side plate coming into slide contact with the rotor 4 and a vane 8. While the vane 8 forms its main unit by an aluminum alloy further provides an ion-plating layer in the top part, sliding with the cylinder block 1, further an electroplating layer, mainly composed of iron, on side surfaces coming into slide contact with a vane groove 7. And the rotor 4 made by the aluminum alloy is connected to a steel made shaft 5 in a condition that the internal peripheral surface of the rotor bites into a recessed part of serrations provided in one or more parts. In this way, the lightness of weight comes able to be attained by enabling parts to be formed by the aluminum alloy.
