The present invention relates to methods and systems for joining two pipelines. The system and the method consist essentially in connecting one pipeline 1 to a second one 2, which have at least two equal internal cross-sections 5, 6, one having an external cross-section 8 which is greater than that of the other 7, the pipeline having the greater external cross-section including a counterbore 10 delimited by a lateral wall 11 and a bottom wall 13, the lateral wall having the same cross-section as the external cross-section of the pipeline of smaller external cross-section, so that the end of this said pipeline may be inserted into the counterbore, the two walls, on the one hand of the end face 14 of the pipeline 1 having the smaller external cross-section and, on the other hand, of the bottom 13 of the counterbore 10, intended to face and contact each other, being shaped so that they define an annular space with a substantially triangular cross-section, one apex 16 of the triangle being defined on the line of contact 17, 18 of the two equal internal cross-sections when the pipeline of smaller external cross-section is inserted into the counterbore produced in the other pipeline and held in the latter by adhesive 19.
