PURPOSE:To shorten the input time of Chinese words by using an alphabet keyboard and supplying the words in both a double-pin input mode and all-pin input mode. CONSTITUTION:An all-pin input mode or a double-pin input mode is set. Then a syllable of a Chinese sound pin-in selecting a double-pin input mode is divided into consonants and vowels and odd and even number alphabet corresponding keys are defined as consonants and vowels respectively. These consonants and vowels are converted into KANJI (Chinese characters) and displayed. In an all-pin input mode, the pin-in is decomposed into each alphabet letter and the alphabet letters equivalent to a single KANJI are supplied for each character. With input of sound interval codes, the alphabet letters are converted into each corresponding KANJI and displayed. Furthermore, the spellings of plural pin-in syllabics are supplied by a single keying action in the all-pin input mode with use of a shift key.
