PURPOSE:To obtain a stable picture signal even at any scanning speed of a CCD image sensor by distributing a master clock in a picture element transfer pulse to obtain a reset pulse, a clamp pulse and a sampling pulse in time series. CONSTITUTION:A clock generator 2 generates a master clock CK and a frequency divider 3 applies 1/4 frequency division to the clock to form a picture element transfer pulse A and a CCD image sensor 1 outputs a picture element signal D in the leading and trailing timing. The pulse distributor 4 distributes the four master clocks CK existing in the ON and OFF part of the pulse A to form an interval pulse J, a sampling pulse H, a reset pulse C and a clamp pulse F in this order. Thus, the frequency of the master clock is varied to change the scanning speed of the CCD image sensor and in any case, since the mutual relation of the picture element transfer pulse and the timing pulse for the output timing is unchanged, a stable picture signal is obtained from the CCD image sensor.
