Deck chairs are known especially in the leisure sector. It is, however, arduous to transport them and set them up out of doors, in particular in winter. For skiers especially it is virtually impossible, since they would be considerably hindered during skiing by deckchairs of the conventional type. To provide a deck chair which is suitable in particular for skiers, can be carried along by any skier without significant extra weight, can be set up out of doors at any time and is of such stability that it does not collapse under the weight of the person sitting in or lying down on it, a construction consisting of a pair of commercially available skis and two ski sticks is provided. Each ski stick can be joined to one of the two skis to form a support, inclined in relation to the ground, for the ski in the region of its tip and can be connected to the other ski stick in the supporting position by at least one crossbar belonging to the sticks. This crossbar is connected to one end of a material web capable of being rolled up, which extends between the two inclined-supported skis and is fixed by its other end in the region of the lower ends of the skis. <IMAGE>
