A device for automatically determining the focusing of a photographic camera contains a central measuring zone in the centre of the camera viewfinder. At least two edge zones of the viewfinder are arranged on the right and the left of the central measuring zone. The camera contains an optical autofocusing system provided for the central measuring zone and at least two autofocusing edge systems for the edge zones. The central autofocusing system contains one zone which corresponds to the central measuring zone which lies conjugate with the former. The autofocusing edge systems have in each case at least one zone which is conjugate with the respective edge zone. One exit pupil of the camera objective (camera lens) is viewed through the central zone of the central autofocusing system. At least two opening zones of the exit pupil are viewed through the autofocusing edge systems. At least one of the two opening zones is arranged above and the other one below the central part of the exit pupil. The central autofocusing system and the two autofocusing edge systems contain in each case at least one photoelectronic arrangement for generating an output signal. The output signal serves for moving the camera objective automatically into the focusing position. <IMAGE>
