An opening is provided in an oven wall of the microwave oven, into which opening a metallic retaining sleeve for an illumination device, a plug-in component (for example a plug-in grill or the like) is inserted. In order to maintain close metallic contact between the retaining sleeve and the oven wall with simple installation, the retaining sleeve has sprung cutting edges on the circumference of the sleeve, which cutting edges spread on the opening edge when the retaining sleeve is inserted into the opening. <IMAGE>
