The semiconductor switch has a temp.-dependent resistance and is fitted between two metal contacts, protruding from the switchgear as tunnels. The semiconductor and contacts are embedded in plastics. Prior to embedding, the semiconductor and contacts are held by an assembly member of insulating material also finally embedded in the plastics. Pref. the assembly member has at least one retainer, into which the contacts are insertable, on the assembly member deformation. The retainer(s) may be slot-shaped for accepting the stirrup-shaped contact on the slot widening. The assembly member may have stops for the positioning of the contacts and/or the semiconductor. USE/ADVANTAGE - Mfg. switching element, with reliable positioning of semiconductor and contacts during embedding in plastics material to ensure correct functioning.
